Who is Dignity Housing?
Dignity Housing is a non-profit organization established by formerly homeless people to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty confronting low-income and homeless families and individuals in Philadelphia. Dignity Housing promotes their self-sufficiency by providing affordable rental housing with individualized social services, home ownership opportunities, assistance in pursuit of education objectives, workforce development and financial management assistance. Since their inception, Dignity Housing has demonstrated success in providing both affordable housing and quality social service supports to nearly 2,000 adults and children throughout Philadelphia. They have been recognized by leaders in government and philanthropy, receiving awards and praise from the Fannie Mae Foundation, The Chronicle of Philanthropy, The Enterprise Foundation, and The Center for Community Change and most recently the Preservation Alliance.
