Who is designing, creating, and building the memorial?
The project is a collaborative effort between the Bethlehem Center Art Students, teacher Tom Shimrock, the Vo-Tech Students, artist Alan Cottril, the local political and corporate arena, and the community at large, including local coal miners and coal companies. The Art students and Bethlehem Center High School designed the sculpture and will work in conjunction with bronze sculptor Alan Cottrill to create the actual seven-foot finished sculpture. The Vo-Tech students will be responsible for the masonry and grounds work.
