Who is David Jay Ladd?
He’s a venture partner at Mayfield Fund, a Silicon Valley venture capital fund. He started his career in digital communications technology and became an inventor, entrepeneur and investor. He is considered one of the pioneers of corporate voicemail.
After college, Ladd worked as a software engineer for Bell Laboratories while pursuing his master of science in Mathematics at Stevens. Later he joined a start-up called ROLM Corporation where he became a member of the engineering management team. Ladd then co-founded the voice messaging company Opcom/VMX. Over the course of his career, Ladd has received more than a dozen patents for his innovations in voice messaging technology. In the late 1990s, Ladd joined Mayfield and sits on the boards of tech companies as a Mayfield representative.
