Who is covered?
A. Almost every employee who is hired, injured or whose employment is localized in the state of Missouri is covered by workers’ compensation. There are exceptions. Missouri law does not require employers having less than five employees to purchase workers compensation insurance UNLESS the employer is in the construction industry and then an employer must have worker’s compensation insurance even if he or she has only one employee. See definition of Employer. Covered employees are covered from the moment they begin their jobs. A worker who suffers personal injury in the course of employment or the dependents of a deceased worker can claim workers’ compensation.
Liability coverage extends to you, your spouse, and any resident family member for the ownership, maintenance, or use of any car, pickup, or van unless specifically restricted by your policy. Most state laws require that you carry a minimum amount of liability insurance, which pays for injuries or damages you cause to someone else. (We recommend that you carry much more than the minimum – – enough to protect all your assets.
