Who is covered under the Service Members Civil Relief Act?
The law covers members of the Navy, Marine Corps, Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard on active duty (including reserves who are called to active duty), National Guard members who are called to Federal active service for more than 30 days, and Public Health Service and National Oceanographic and Atmospheric officers. Parts of the law also include protections for the service members dependents their spouses, children, and persons for whom they provide more than half the person’s support.
