Who is covered under the “exceptions” to the qualification requirements for contracting positions established by Title 10 of United States Code (USC) 1724?
An individual who was a DOD employee or member of the Armed Forces on or before Sept. 30, 2000, and has remained a DOD employee or member of the Armed Forces who — (1) served in an 1102 (or comparable military) position on or before Sept. 30, 2000; or (2) served as a contracting officer with authority to award or administer contracts in excess of the simplified acquisition threshold on or before Sept. 30, 2000.
