Who is China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC)?
China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) is the state network information center of China, which was founded as a non-profit organization in June, 1997. CNNIC takes direction from the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) to conduct daily business, while it is administratively operated by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The Computer Network Information Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences takes the responsibility of running and administrating CNNIC. The CNNIC Steering Committee is a working group composed of well-known experts and commercial representatives in the domestic Internet community which supervises and evaluates the structure, operation and administration of CNNIC.
