Who is Cathie Black?
Black is the President of Hearst Magazines and is often dubbed "The First Lady of American Magazines." She has four decades of experience in the media business. Black manages the financial performance and development of some of the industry’s best known titles like Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan. Black focuses on international development for her magazines worldwide as well as significant digital expansion.
She began her career in advertising sales with several magazines. Black made publishing history when she became the first woman publisher of the weekly consumer magazine, New York.
Black is a graduate of Trinity College and holds nine honorary degrees.
