Who is Bob Sanders?
Bob Sanders is a safety for the Indianapolis Colts, who selected the Iowa product with a second-round pick in the 2004 NFL Draft. Sanders is a two-time Pro Bowl and All-Pro selection, won the 2007 NFL Defensive Player of the Year and was also a part of the Colts’ Super Bowl XLI title squad. Sanders was the 44th overall pick in 2004 after his time with the Hawkeyes, and he primarily played backup in his rookie campaign. He reached the Pro Bowl in his second season of 2005, recording 91 tackles and one interception. In 2006, he missed all but four regular-season games due to a knee injury, but he proved integral to the Colts’ playoff run, deflecting what would have been a game-clinching pass for the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game; then forcing a fumble and recording an interception against the Chicago Bears as Indianapolis won its first Super Bowl since the franchise relocated from Baltimore.
