Who Is Billed for C-section Deliveries?
• Similar to older women age 18 to 34, pregnant adolescents covered by Medicaid are slightly more likely to deliver their babies by Cesarean section (C-section) than those with private insurance. • Pregnant adolescents with no health insurance coverage are the least likely to deliver by C-section, which raises the question about the influence of insurance status on choice of procedures.
