Kobe has played longer, had better teams and racked up more career totals and championships. LeBron has more individual accolades and is still in his prime. The history books will say leBron was better in my opinion.
LeBron is better at filling up the stat sheet. He also has done more with less talent. When Kobe had Luke Walton, Smush Parker, and Chris Mihm as teammates, the Lakers never got past the first round. In 2007, LeBron took a team of Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Anderson Varejao, and Boobie Gibson to the Finals. LeBron also led the Cavs to multiple 60+ win seasons. Many also criticize Kobe for not winning without dominant bigs. He had Shaq for his first three rings and Gasol/Bynum for his other two.
In the long run, LeBron will go down as the better player but the difference isn’t as significant as some make it out to be.
