Who is better, Alex Rodriguez or David Ortiz?
With my love for the Yankees and my hatred for the Red Sox aside, there is no way Ortiz is, nor ever will be, better than Alex Rodriguez. Personally, I never liked A-Rod until I saw what he could really do. He’s an all-around great fielder and can hit the ball really well. When you take a look at Ortiz’s fielding skills, you can see right then and there that A-Rod is better. David Ortiz is severely overrated. He can’t field to save his life. Granted, first base isn’t the best position to show off your fielding skills, but I doubt he would be a great fielder no matter which position he is at, due to his lack of speed. As for offence: Ortiz averages 23 HR’s a season, where as A-Rod averages 36. Ortiz averages 107 Hits a season, where as A-Rod averages 158. A-Rod has 259 career stolen bases. How many does Ortiz have? Only 8. A-Rod: On Base Percentage: .388 Ortiz: On Base Percentage: .381 A-Rod: Slugging Percentage: .577 Ortiz: Slugging Percentage: .553 A-Rod: Average: .305 Ortiz: Average:
