Who is authorized to sign supplier contracts, including catering for events?
Only Purchasing Services has the authority to sign, according to the University’s procurement and disbursement financial policies. For their protection, University faculty and staff are not authorized to sign contracts, regardless of the dollar amount, on behalf of the University-otherwise they could be held personally liable for the commitment, monetary and otherwise. The Office of the General Counsel assists Purchasing Services in determining contract terms and conditions that are in the best interest of the University.
