Who is authorised to use the e-resources licensed by the University of Aberdeen?
Use of electronic resources is subject to licence agreements with publishers and other service providers. These licences define who is authorised to use the resource. Note that the University’s licences permit use of e-resources for “Educational Purposes”, meaning for the purpose of education, teaching, distance learning, private study and/or research. University of Aberdeen employees are authorised to use all our resources (generally this also includes contractors). University of Aberdeen students are authorised to use all our resources (except JORUM which is restricted to staff). Honorary or connected staff who are not employed or contracted by the University of Aberdeen may be authorised users for some resources depending on the nature of their relationship with the University, particularly if they are retired University of Aberdeen staff or teach University of Aberdeen students.
