Registered Massage Therapists are required to complete 2200 hours of anatomy, physiology, pathology, clinical studies and more. The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario recognizes only those therapists who have completed these requirements and who have passed a licensing exam. The College holds the Official Marks for Massage Therapist, M.T., Massothérapeute, Registered Therapist, R.M.T., Massage Therapy, Therapeutic Massage, Massage Thérapeutique, and Massothérapie. Any other terms used to describe a practice or practitioner of massage, are not recognized by the College or by Ontario insurance companies.
