Who is affected by gonorrhea?
Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease (STD). The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that about 600,000 people get gonorrhea each year.1 Many new cases of gonorrhea in adolescents are reported each year. Teenage girls ages 15 to 19 and men ages 20 to 24 have the highest rates of infection.2 References Citations • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2006).
