Who is Affected by a Paraprofessional School Transfer?
Paraprofessionals considering transferring school districts may or may not have new standards to meet: • Non-instructional Paraprofessional School Transfer: NO • Paraprofessionals who do not assist in instructional duties do not have to meet any new standards. Examples of non-instructional duties include personal care services, cafeteria / playground supervision, and translating services. • Translator and Parental Involvement Activities Paraprofessional School Transfer: MAYBE • Translators who assist in lessons and instruction must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent to work in an NCLB-funded school.
