Who is Adventist Health Systems?
Adventist Health System (AHS) is part of a tradition that began promoting the benefits of good health more than a century ago. In 1866, the Seventh-day Adventist Church opened its first healthcare center in Battle Creek, Michigan. It was a special place where scientific treatment of disease was combined with education in the prevention of disease, a tradition that continues in Adventist health care today. Around the world, the church operates more than 500 healthcare facilities dedicated to helping people achieve physical, mental and spiritual wholeness. These include approximately 160 hospitals in addition to nursing homes, dispensaries and clinics.
