Who is a stay-at-home Dad?
Men are home for different reasons and not all the reasons qualify for the stay-at-home Dad qualification. Some men are home for health reasons, some work from home with less income, and some are home because they are retired (they make fixed income). Stay-at-home Dads are young able bodied men, who in agreement with their spouse choose to stay at home to nurture and raise the children mainly for economic and health reasons. Why stay-at-home Dad phenomenon is news There are about 2 million stay-at-home dads in America (source: Christianity-today). This phenomenon is news because it goes against the traditional setting of the family and the fact that it threatens the Judeo-Christian teaching that the man is the head of the home. The traditional settings in almost every culture of the world is that it is the man that brings home the “bacon” and the woman nurtures (or take care) the kids at home.
