Who is a special assignment teacher and what is the scope of duties?
Question: Who will be considered a special assignment teacher and what will be the scope of his/her duties? Does Special Assignment Teacher have to provide direct instruction to the students? In my opinion, a teacher or a special assignment teacher has to provide direct instruction to students but to make my argument valid I need an authoritative organization like yours to validate my opinion or provide us with the right definition of a special teacher and scope of his/her work. Response: Many districts assign teachers to non-classroom assignments and call them “Teachers on Special Assignment” (TOSAs). This is not unusual. Most of these teachers are exceptional and well respected in their subject field and are often used to coach other teachers in a subject area.
