Who Invented the Portable CD Player?
James T. Russell conceived the compact disc player (CD player) in 1965 while he worked at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory of the Battelle Memorial Institute in Richland. More than 50 of his patents reshaped the computer, music and television industry by introducing a high-fidelity, high-memory storage device and nearly indestructible technology.
