Who Invented the Poodle Skirt?

Your answer is incorrect! Miriam Berg of Chicago invented the Poodle Skirt! There was an article about her with photographs of her designs in the Chicago Daily Tribune on 12/3/1955 in which it was discussed. The Poodle Skirt was dimensional (the body was stuffed and the collar had rindstones) which made it different from other applique designs by other designers including the designer you incorrectly credit with the creation of this design. Also Miriam Berg was the first to put a poodle on the felt skirt. There is no information existing about this other woman using a poodle design and including dimension. My cousin and I modeled these skirts as well at luncheons, etc at that time. My cousin was photographed modeling with a very famous female opera singer. The interest thing is that the Poodle Skirt was not the most popular design at the time. Other designs (as shone in the article referenced above) included a sailboat, a ballerina, a carriage and horses, masks and all were dimensional
