Who invented taiji?
There are many legends surrounding the invention of taijiquan. Many of them revolve around the Daoist sage Zhang San Feng who may or may not have existed. It is most likely however (according to people who study this sort of thing), that taijiquan was originally the creation of Chen Wang Ting, the ninth generation head of Chen village (Chenjiagou), which resides in Northern China, not far from the Shaolin Temple. Chen village still exists to this day and is gaining fame as a center for taijiquan training.
