Who invented music therapy?
Music therapy is actually a form of healing that emerged in ancient times when it was thought that different tonalities could have a different impact on the body and the soul. In modern times, music therapy emerged as a profession after the Second World war when it was found that hospitalised returned service-men in the USA sometimes responded better to music than traditional forms of verbal treatments. In the 1960s, music therapy was introduced to children with disabilities. These days, music therapy is applied to meet the needs of people of all ages and abilities.
