Who invented hearing aids?

0

Alexander Graham Bell was working to develop a hearing aid when he invented the telephone, his mother had become deaf during his childhood and he, his brother and his father were all involved in the study of sound and in teaching the deaf to lip read and use sign language. One of Bell’s pupils was Helen Keller and he was later to marry another of them, a girl who had lost her hearing due to scarlet fever in her early teens. The telephone did help to greatly improve hearing aids but they were not portable by any means;that had to wait for the development of batteries small enough to be carried around. The hearing aid as we know it is not the result of a single breakthrough in any given science, but a merging of developments in different disciplines and industries that has been going on for around a century and a half..and a century longer than that if you ignore powered aids.
