The rates are approved annually by the Township Board with an ordinance amendment, based on staff recommendations. In 2004 Canton hired a rate consultant to develop a new rate structure based on the true cost-of-service. That study was adopted in late 2005 and recently updated in 2007. The revised rates took effect in July.
