who here has relocated to another state?
I’m just wondering how long it took to start receicing services. If you already had a diagnosis from one state , did that expedite the process or did you have to go thru the whole EI procedure from scratch. Thanks! My son was diagnosed in June at 32 months. He did some “summer school” 1 on 1 over a few weeks of the summer but I elected NOT to start preschool at 3 because we were moving 2 months after school started and I feared all the transitions would be too much for him. SO the team who had been working with him for a year and a half – 2 years with in home Early Intervention wrote up his IEP and when I moved to the new state I just took it with me and enrolled him in school. No delays in the process, of course this was 7 years ago and the autism epidemic has grown since than so I suppose some places may have waiting lists now or be “full”… If you are considering moving I would call or visit ahead and have the place you get services now contact to set up a smooth quick(er) transiti
