Who here actually is aware that civil disobedience is STILL DISOBEDIENCE?

I’m aware. Civil disobedience and revolt are both last-resort options championed by our country’s founders (as well as philosophers and human-rights leaders), but it must be stressed that they are indeed last-resort. Furthermore, civil disobedience must be done in a public manner, and – most importantly – the person or people practicing it must be willing to peacefully accept the legal consequences for their actions. That’s actually the linchpin of civil disobedience: that you are indeed breaking the law, but you are doing so to make a statement (usually a political or moral one), and you must accept any and all consequences that come with your actions. It’s also pertinent to note that civil disobedience should not involve killing, vandalism, and the like – the “civil” part needs to be respected to.
