Who helps students with physical or learning disabilities?
Students should contact Disability Support Services at 301-314-7683, or visit their office located in 0126 Shoemaker Hall. DSS will make arrangements with the student to obtain the required documentation and to determine and implement appropriate academic accommodations. Typically, individuals with medical or psychiatric conditions will be asked to provide documentation from a physician. Individuals with learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder will be asked to provide a full psycho-educational test report.
Disability Support Services (DSS), located in Shoemaker Hall, coordinates services that ensure individuals with disabilities equal access to University of Maryland programs. Accommodations for eligible students include, but are not limited to: Testing Accommodations (e.g., extended exam time, testing readers and/or scribes), Reading Accommodations (e.g., books on tape, enlarged print), Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (e.g., assistive learning devices, interpreting services), and Miscellaneous Services (e.g., priority registration, lab/library assistance). • Can I order a birthday cake to be delivered to my son or daughter?
