There’s no evidence that Peter was ever in Rome. Paul was commissioned to spread the Gospel to the Gentiles, not Peter. Paul also wrote very passionately to the churches in Rome and was almost certainly beheaded there… so if it was anyone spoken of in the Bible, it was Paul.
