Who Has The Right To Criticize Others?
Those of us who have reached spiritual maturity, who have no faults, who make no mistakes, who never falter or fail. Now if anyone has the right to criticize others it is he who meets these conditions and I don’t know anyone who does. Many Christians see themselves as self appointed correctors of the wrongs of their brothers and sisters in Christ. They see clearly the shortcomings and faults of others — and they are quick to point them out. But these people are often blind to the same deficiencies in their own spiritual life (see Romans 2:1). I read recently about a group of residents in a Connecticut town who were terribly upset about the reckless driving on their suburban streets. So 53 of them signed a petition calling for tighter traffic control in their neighborhoods. The sheriff responded by setting up a watch a few nights later. He caught five violators in all — and each of them had signed the petition! They themselves were guilty of the very transgressions of which they were
