Who has the authority to change address details on PDS?

0

To date Personal Demographics Service (PDS) has been fed address changes from the NHS Strategic Tracing Service (NSTS) – therefore all changes to address were sourced via primary care. All NHS Care Records Service (NHS CRS) compliant systems are also able to change demographics data held on PDS for their patients via the Update Demographics function. Some data items such as registered GP code will be restricted and access to change these data items controlled via role based access (RBAC). This is done via the “PDS Update Message”. A key principle is that, if demographic information on the PDS is wrong, then it must be corrected, either through a NHS CRS compliant local system, or indirectly via the GP Practice – NHAIS/Exeter-NSTS-PDS route.
