Who has seen Toby Keith in concert?
I’ve seen him twice, the first time was back in like ’02 or ’03 in Oklahoma City and the show was great. He was full of energy, interacted with the audience, A LOT, and he performed his songs better than they are on the album. I was far from disappointed. The second time I saw him was around ’05 at the New York State Fair. This time I was disappointed. I don’t know if he was sick, or what, but he had very little energy, hardly talked to the audience, and half the time he was off key, and the set list was almost identical to Oklahoma’s. There was a lot of confetti flying through the air though. When he did talk to the audience, it was only about the Ford truck that was on stage (the tour was sponsored by Ford.) Joe Nichols opened for him, I was happier with Joe’s performance than I was Toby’s. I don’t know if Toby was more upbeat in Oklahoma because he was playing to his hometown crowd or if it was just that he really was sick when he came to New York that year. After I saw him the last
