Tiger Woods won a court order yesterday banning British media from reporting certain new details about his personal life in an effort to contain revelations about his affairs with a string of waitresses and porn actresses. The legal action, by London-based lawyers, is the first serious attempt by Woods, 33, to try to limit the spiraling damage to his reputation. He has struggled to contain the media fallout since he crashed his car outside his house on Thanksgiving night. Neighbours saw his wife, Elin Nordegren, standing over him with a golf club in her hands, before an ambulance took him away for treatment. Since then at least 11 women have come forward alleging that they have had relations with Woods, whose golfing prowess and squeaky-clean family man image had made him a favourite of corporate sponsors.
