Who has endorsed the proposed constitutional amendment?
President George W. Bush recently endorsed the FMA. In addition, the same individuals and right wing groups who strongly oppose unions and a workers right to choose are aggressively promoting the amendment. Those who support the FMA are attacking the labor movement’s basic principle of equal rights and benefits for all workers, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, and immigration status. With millions of people out of work, an economy that has failed, month after month to generate jobs, a protracted war in Iraq, and the threat of terrorism, politicians should not be focused on passing a Constitutional amendment that would deprive people of fundamental rights and further divide our country.
