Alfred Wegener (1880-1930) • Alfred Wegener was the first scientist to propose the theory of the continental drift. With such an idea, the idea was ridiculed. Furthermore, with such evidence that he had, the idea was accepted. Wegener traveled all over the world.Alfred Wegener earned a PhD in astronomy from the University of Berlin in 1904. • He also examined the track of air circulation, furthermore wrote a textbook that became popular throughout Germany.Wegener joined people to do an expedition to Greenland to study polar air circulation • Alexander Du Toit helped Alfred Wegener develop the continental drift .In 1914 he was drafted into the German army.Unfortunately soon after the was sent home to do an injury. Years followed and in 1930, which was his last trip to Greenland, he froze in the icecaps and never seen again.
