Who had the hardest punch of all time?boxing?
The HARDEST punch as a clinical punch has to be Joe Louis because he could knock his opponent out with either hand with a short hook or short straight and he did not throw all his aggression onto a punch as did Tyson. Joe Louis had perfect balance and timing his punch was purely timed to perfection and he could knock a man out from a distance of six inches. George Foreman was lethal but his were big swings from a big powerful man. Even Frank Bruno was a massive hitter you never saw Frank lose his temper he would simply flick out his punches and most opponents would drop.
Earnie Shavers is reputed to be the hardest hitter of all time. He knocked down both Muhammad Ali and Larry Holmes with one punch – a murderous right hand. He couldn’t jab, couldn’t hook, had no defense and no stamina… but with that one punch KO power, he could survive without those tools. Larry Holmes, the great heavyweight champ of the late 70’s early 80’s, fought both Shavers and Mike Tyson and said without thinking about it that Shavers hit harder than Tyson. Easily.
