Who had superior ship building technology in ancient times?
Undoubtedly India had the superior ship building technology from ancient times and also superiod wood for this purpose- CATAMARAN – is a simple float, like a big boat used by the fishermen in South India in Coramandal coast for fishing. It consist of two long pieces of wood shaped little curved to float and sail on sea water. The pieces are tied together with stong ropes. It is neither a boat nor a ship and this technology is the oldest in the world and this was the guiding factor for ship building technics. This technology is used by ancient Indians over 2000 years. The catamaran is shaped in such a way to float on high seas also on waves and it can take the weight of 3 to 5 persons sitting for oring and fishing also their harvest of fish. The pressure from water and the weight of the persons and load are syncronised in a scientific manner so that the fload does not sink or have a unruly run.
