Who Gets Prostrate Cancer?
Prostate cancer is very rare before the age of 40, but the chance of having prostate cancer rises rapidly after age 50. Almost 2 out of 3 prostate cancers are found in men over the age of 65. Incidence rates are higher among African American men and among men with a family history of this cancer. The cancer of the prostrate usually causes enlargement of the prostrate gland. The enlargement can lead to urinary problems, such as diffulty urinating or in controlling urination, the need to urinate frequently, painful or burning urination or blood in the urine. It is important to have regular checkups and see your doctor if you have these symptoms.
