Who gets a provisional ballot?

0

At elections where state candidates/issues or federal candidates are nominated or elected, some voters may be eligible for a provisional ballot. If a voter’s name cannot be found on the precinct register and their eligibility cannot be determined by the election authority or if the judges cannot reach the election authority, they may be given a provisional ballot (RSMo 115.430). A voter’s eligibility to cast the ballot will be researched following the election to determine whether the ballot will be counted.
