Sheppey Wheels has received financial support from three organisations: Kent Rural Towns programme; Mid Kent LEADER+; Swale Borough Council. Mid Kent LEADER+ and Kent Rural Towns Programme have each awarded grants of £73,297. Swale Borough Council has provided loan finance of £47,000. “This much needed project could not have started without the generous financial support of these three furnders” said Amanda Duddle, Project Coordinator. The project is a social enterprise and charges fees for trips to both individual members and not-for-profit groups. By December 2008, it is projected that a total of £35,000 will have been paid to Sheppey Wheels for trips.
