Who founded the ancient mystery school, The Brotherhood of the Bee?
I’m unsure of its founder, however, this may help someone else find it…if it is even known. The name of this brotherhood (Sarmoung or Sarman) means Bee. The term Sarmoung Brotherhood contains the Armenian pronunciation of the Persian term ‘Sarman’, which may mean either ‘he who preserves the doctrine of Zoroaster’, or ‘bee’. The Commagene King Antiochus I Theos Epiphanes seems to have been connected to the Brotherhood, and may even have been (as Adrian Gilbert suggests) its leader. The Brotherhood was an esoteric group sought by Georges Gurdjieff on his journeys through Southwest and Central Asia.
