Who found the first dinosaur fossil?
It’s hard to say who discovered the first fossil, because many discoveries were obviously just not reported. However, the ancient Chinese were known to use ground-up fossils of dinosaurs in a type of medicine starting about 300 B.C.E. with the belief that they were actually dragon bones (not surprisingly, considering the shape of the bone). However, the first reported dinosaur fossil ever discovered was discovered by John Woodward, who was the first to cataloging of a dinosaur bone. After that, the fossil record later on became much more complete.
