Paul Bunyan is the mythical lumberjack whose size is as legendary as his name. He first appeared in print in 1910, but was a folk legend among lumberjacks in the pineries of Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota. A symbol of strength, Paul and his companion, Babe the Blue Ox, are said to have created the Puget Sound, the Grand Canyon and the Black Hills.
