Paper products take a considerable amount of the average American family’s grocery store budget. Why not give this a trim by using fabric towels, instead of paper? How often does a paper towel get used? A fabric towel gets used thousands of times before ending up in the landfill. When my kids spill, they usually reach for the dish towel anyway. It’s more absorbent and goes a lot further than a single paper towel. While it is true that you have to wash the regular dish towels, they are much cheaper to use in the long run. 9. Join the club. National buying clubs like Sam’s Club or Costco are open to the public. For an annual fee, you can have access to some of the same sources local restaurants use for their food. If you don’t have storage, consider splitting some of the larger bulk packages with a friend. On most things, the prices are lower than the local grocery store. 10. Pare down the protein. Cutting back on meats can drastically reduce your grocery spending. It’s healthier too! Co
