Who enforces health and safety legislation at my workplace?

0

Generally speaking if your workplace is an office, shop, warehouse or involved with leisure or entertainment then the Environmental Health Department (NKDC) will be the enforcement authority. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) enforce in the more dangerous workplaces such as factories. All employers should have a Health and Safety Law poster on display that should state whether NKDC or the HSE are the enforcement authority. See leaflet “Have you got the new Health and Safety Law Poster?” If you are still not sure you should contact us and if we don’t know we will find out for you.
