Who enacted the Law of return and what was its significance?
Israel’s Parliament enacted the Law of Return, grants special rights to Jews with the aim of facilitating their immigration to the Jews’ ancestral homeland. The Law of Return declares that Israel constitutes a home not only for the inhabitants of the State, but also for all members of the Jewish people everywhere – be they living in poverty and fear of persecution or in affluence and safety.
