Who else finds the furniture in stores to be hideous?
You’re looking in the wrong furniture stores for your style. Are there any contemporary stores in your area. We have a Crown Furniture store that has awesome modern designs in unique shapes and colors. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. It’s all a matter of taste. Personally, I love leather furnishings, they wear well and look beautiful in my style home. Fabric furniture wears out much too quickly and if you have kids forget it, the fabric won’t last 5 years.
