Who Does the Skyway Open Benefit?
The charitable goal of the Skyway Open is to raise money for The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities. The Club’s mission is: to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The Club serves youth ages 6-18 years old. Since the Club is an integral part of the neighborhoods it serves, relationships with businesses, schools and families are built to better serve youth. Club sites are placed in targeted neighborhoods where the need is greatest. The organization’s members often face significant challenges, some of which include poverty, crime and violence, single parent families, poor school performance, substance abuse and gangs. The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities provides a wide range of programming in five core program areas – Character & Leadership Development; Education & Career Development; Health & Life Skills; the Arts; and Sports, Fitness & Recreation.
