Who Does the Imposition – the Designer or the Printer? Some page layout software has imposition tools built-in. There are also third-party applications for doing imposition. For desktop printing of booklets or other multi-page documents you may do the imposition yourself. But when sending files out for printing it could be the printer handling all the imposition work. Trinity writes, “I work with several printers and most of them don’t ask me to do the imposition. One asks me for smaller projects sometimes, but the rest don’t. One of them doesn’t even want me to do the imposition because they often don’t know how they will plan the job on the press until they have seen it.” Fi
